TIDAL / TIDAL Connect Not Working Due to ISP Routing

If TIDAL or TIDAL Connect does not work on a Volumio device, but works on other devices (phone or PC), the issue may be related to the ISP network routing or upstream provider.

Symptoms

  • TIDAL Connect shows the player but playback does not start

  • Volumio shows playback but no sound is produced

  • TIDAL appears to be stuck buffering

Cause

In some cases, the problem is caused by the ISP backend or wholesale provider routing, which can prevent proper communication with TIDAL services.

Solution:
Test the device on a different network (e.g., mobile hotspot). If it works, contact your ISP and ask them to check their network routing or backend provider, as this may prevent proper communication with TIDAL services.
